Just had the best experience of a welcome to a city - staying at the Hotel Vitale - Bay bridge view from the top floor room - and dinner right across the street at Boulevard restaurant. Here's the view from the room :
Waiter was the best ambassador ever - loads of recommendations on museums, things to not miss and just practical advice on how to get the best from our stay.
I can already see that we will struggle to pack it all in before we leave on Monday - but we will certainly have a great try!
People who welcome visitors in such a genuine way are just great, they make you feel good about life, traveling and the world in general.
And I didn't even get his name.. doesn't matter - we will be back!!
